This year, New Zealand Sign Language Week is celebrating the 20th anniversary of New Zealand Sign Language being formally recognised as an official language of Aotearoa New Zealand. It seems like a great time for the Teece to share our very first NZSL videos!

With generous support from the George Sevicke Jones Estate, the Teece was able to work in collaboration with some talented people to create two videos which introduce visitors to the Museum, and share one of the highlights of the Collection – an ancient Greek wine cup. Have a look at the videos on our YouTube channel, or find out more on the accessibility tab of our website.

Huge thanks to our amazing collaborators:

  • Jenna Holland (NZSL Presenter)
  • Theresa Cooper (NZSL Consultant)
  • Julie Fraser, Sign Equity Ltd
  • University of Canterbury Educational Media Production Team
