BRICKS of OLYMPUS
See ancient myth brought to life in ‘Bricks of Olympus’ at the UC Teece Museum. Created by LEGO® masterminds Jake Roos and Emily Fryer, (winner and runner up in Season One of LEGO® Masters New Zealand), this brick-shaped tribute to the gods will feature ancient myth as its story telling heart. Marvel at the a large scale automated theatre, constructed from LEGO® bricks, telling the epic adventure of Odysseus – monsters and shipwrecks galore!
To fully explore the dynamics of brick construction, our minifigure legions will be demonstrating the principles of simple machines in motion around the gallery. More levers, wheels, pulleys, inclined planes, wedges, and screws than you can throw a lightning bolt at. See centaurs transporting an ancient tombstone on wheels, and marvel at the warriors lifting a giant amphora with a pulley. Whether you are into building brick masterpieces, or are fascinated by the construction of ancient myth, this is the exhibition for you!
Bring your family and friends along to the Grand Opening festivities on Thurs 15 January, and meet our two LEGO® creators in person. Find all the details in our Facebook event listing or online!
