Apollo is a very influential god because he is part of not one, but two different pantheons. A pantheon is a group of gods or deities from one religion or culture.
Originally, Apollo belonged to the Greek pantheon; however, when the Romans realised that they did not have a god like Apollo, they invited him to become their god as well.
