About this objectA terracotta kyathos with a deep bowl, and a single handle that rises above the rim of the cup. The handle has a knobbed decoration on its apex. The cup has a gently out-curving rim, and a low ring foot. The surface has an impasto texture with light brown/red glaze.
A kyathos is a type of cup, originally from the Etruscan culture with a short stem and a single high handle. It could be used as a drinking cup or a dipping ladle.
