Name/TitleFragment of a skyphos
About this objectThis fragment is from the bottom of a vase and includes sections of the foot and body. Made from orange-red terracotta a black glaze has been used on the exterior, interior and in the band under the foot. Above the foot and a band of glaze is a meander pattern which is interrupted by crossed squares.
This fragment possibly comes from a skyphos. Skyphoi (singular: skyphos) were deep-wine cups, commonly used at symposium.
