About this objectThe provenance of this fragment, believed to be from a skyphos or mug, remains unknown. Approximately half to two-thirds of the mug are missing. The base remains intact and along the remaining side can be seen a red band which runs around the top just below the rim.
Skyphoi (singular: skyphos) were deep-wine cups, commonly used at symposium.
