Name/TitleEgyptian black-topped red ware bowl
About this objectThis Egyptian red ware bowl is conical, with a wide mouth and rounded upright rim. The sides taper inwards from the mouth to a small flat circular base. The exterior of the body has a red polished glaze, with the upper third and rim in black. The interior is fully black. There is an incised mark on the side of the vessel, which resembles a three-pronged trident.
This artefact is similar to predynastic Egyptian vessels, and was likely used in a domestic or funerary context.
