Name/TitleEgyptian jar
About this objectThis small, pale ceramic jar is made of a fine clay with few inclusions. It has been glazed and decorated with black and possibly red glazes, although the decoration is heavily worn. The jar has a spherical belly and a small neck with a wide mouth, flared rim and pointed edge. There is a small raised moulding on one shoulder, possibly a makers mark or a point where a handle or similar was previously attached.
This artefact was likely used in a domestic or funerary context.
