About this objectAn aryballos; a container usually used to hold oil or perfume for personal use. This particular piece has a quatrefoil design surrounded by leaves on which red paint has been added. Under the handle is a rough crossed circle. On the lip there is a rosette left unfilled. The quatrefoil is used a lot in the Late Corinthian period and continued to evolve in style in later years.
