Careers in Heritage

This FREE event for senior high school and university students will introduce them to the many and varied careers in arts and heritage. If you want to find out more about what it takes to become a curator, registrar, conservator, exhibitions developer, museum educator, or any other role in arts and heritage, then this is the event for you! Guest speakers from across the sector will share what’s great about their jobs, and let you know what skills or qualifications you would need to do the same work. Speakers for 2024 include:

  • Amy Boswell-Hore,  Access Quest NZ
  • Annabel Armstrong-Clarke, Christchurch City Council Archives
  • Chris Davey, Air Force Museum NZ
  • Erna Tidy, Canterbury Museum
  • Jemma Wiki, UC Macmillan Brown Library
  • Lizzie Meek, Antarctic Heritage Trust
  • Meg Nicoll
  • Sarah Davy, Selwyn Libraries
  • Tjalling de Vries, Christchurch Art Gallery

This year the Careers in Heritage event can also offer travel grants to assist Waitaha Canterbury schools to attend the workshop. Contact Terri Elder at the Teece Museum for more details.
